The two-year Master's degree program in Journalism and Communication Studies aims to deepen the academic pre-professional education that students acquired in their Bachelor's degree program. In particular, students develop the needed abilities for independently dealing with scientific problems within the scope of their Masters' theses, both content-wise and methodically. Furthermore, qualifications for managerial roles in the field of communication should be obtained. Aside from theoretical and methodological as well as job-related specializations, students broaden their horizons in their specialized areas.

The Master's degree program in Journalism and Communication Studies at the University of Vienna can only be taken up after successfully completing the Bachelor's degree program in Journalism and Communication Studies or an equivalent program.

Further information on the Master's degree program (MA) is available here.

Furthermore, we are also offering an English-speaking Master program in Communication Science (MSc). If you are interested in this program, please check here for more details.
