"Worlds of Journalism Study" starting in Austria

24.02.2023

The study involving Josef Seethaler (Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Folker Hanusch is conducted in about 100 countries around the globe.

The Worlds of Journalism Study investigates to what extent journalistic work has changed as a result of the digital transformation and which challenges journalists currently perceive as particularly significant. Supported by the UNESCO, Reporters Without Borders, and the International Federation of Journalists, research teams in about 100 countries participate and conduct representative surveys of journalists in their countries on the basis of a collaboratively developed questionnaire. In Austria, the survey starts on Monday, February 27.

In Austria, the Worlds of Journalism Study is being conducted within the project Journalism under Duress, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Alongside the principal investigator Josef Seethaler (Austrian Academy of Sciences, ÖAW), Folker Hanusch's Journalism Studies Center carries out main parts of the study as national collaboration partner.

More information on the project offer the Website of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the official press release (German only), and the website of the Worlds of Journalism Study.
