UNIVIE Awards for Johanna Dorer & Tobias Dienlin

04.07.2022

Both received their awards during UNIVIE's semester closing party at the university campus.

The University of Vienna has established the UNIVIE awards in five categories in order to widely recognize and honor the achievements of its employees. This year, two colleagues of our department were honored for their outstanding work. Additionally, awardees receive a prize money of € 3.000 each.

Johanna Dorer was awarded the Anneliese Schnell Equality Award for her long-term research on and commitment to gender equality and diversity. Johanna has been a member of the Working Group for Gender Equality and Diversity ("Arbeitskreis für Gleichbehandlungsfragen") since 1996 and was, among other things, part of the group designing the University of Vienna's plans for the promotion of women.

The second recipient of an UNIVIE award was Tobias Dienlin, who was honored with a prestigious UNIVIE Teaching Award in the category "Foster activation and completion of (university) courses" for his exceptional efforts in delivering high-quality teaching. Decisive were Tobias's overall well-thought, clearly structured and asynchronous teaching concept as well as his constant availability for student requests.
