The focus of the tenure track professorship is on the history of media and communication. We are seeking excellent applicants who will cover communication and media in long-term temporal perspective and/or the history of communication studies, ideas, and theories. The tenure track professorship is open to all theoretical and methodological approaches. As the position is located in the Faculty of Social Sciences, applicants are expected to be able to connect to the social science orientation of the research environment. Successful applicants will be willing to engage in interdisciplinary networking and cooperation in the field of media and communication history is desirable.

The Tenure Track Professorship in the field of Media and Communication History is initially limited to a period of six years. After positive evaluation of a qualification agreement, the contract becomes permanent as Associate Professor. Further, Associate Professors can be promoted to Full Professor through an internal competitive procedure.
