Lazarsfeld Guest Professorship at our Department

We are once again hosting Daniela Dimitrova (Iowa State University) in Vienna.

Daniela Dimitrova, who already visited our Department in 2020 and 2022, will be the Lazarsfeld Guest Professor at our Department during the month of December 2023. As part of her stay in Vienna, she will give a presentation at the Department's Research Talk series, to be held on December 11 and entitled Challenges and opportunities in research on refugee communications. Further, she will teach a class within the doctoral program in social sciences on Visual Framing Analysis.

CV: Daniela Dimitrova (Ph.D., University of Florida) is a Professor in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University, USA. Her research interests include international political communication, media framing as well as information and communication technologies (ICTs). Professor Dimitrova has been actively involved with the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), where she served as Head, Vice-Head and Research Chair of the Communication Technology Division.

Since fall 2020, she is Editor-in-Chief of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, the oldest refereed scholarly journal in mass communication. She has published extensively in journals such as Communication ResearchJournalism & Mass Communication QuarterlyNew Media & SocietyThe International Journal of Press/Politics, and the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, with her work being honored with multiple awards.
