Olga Eisele joins ASCoR

Starting in September, Olga will be Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam, Olga will be part of the Amsterdam School of Communication Research's (ASCoR) Corporate Communication Program Group. She plans to continue with her research focusing on political communication with an emphasis on the European Union and challenges/crises of democracy, legitimation processes, and the relationship between media and politics. 

Olga has completed her Ph.D. entitled The Legitimation of the European Parliament in May 2017. Since October 2018, she has been part of our department's Computational Communication Science Lab, led by Hajo Boomgaarden. As Hertha-Firnberg-Awardee funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), she leads her own research project entitled Tango on a Tightrope – An Investigation of Media-Politics Dynamics During Ten Years of EU Crises. Further, she was Co-PI of an extension project funded by the Anniversary Fund of the Austrian National Bank (OeNB), which focused on the case study of Austria (PI: Hajo Boomgaarden). From September 2020 until Feb 2021,  Olga was already a Virtual Research Fellow at ASCoR, more specifically the Center for Politics and Communication.
