New Professorship: Annie Waldherrs joins from Münster!

Starting September 1, Annie Waldherr will take over the Professorship of Computational Communication Science.

We are very happy to announce that Annie is joining our department from the University of Muenster (Germany), where she was an Assistant Professor of Communication Science since January 2017. At our department, Annie will be Professor of Computational Communication Science.

Annie Waldherr studied Communication Science (1999-2005) at the University of Hohenheim (Germany) and the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon, USA. She worked as a Research Associate at the University of Hohenheim (2006-2010) and the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at Freie Universität Berlin (2010-2016), where she obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2011. In 2016, she was a visiting scholar at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University in Boston, USA.

Annie Waldherr's research focuses on computational social science, public sphere, and political online communication. She has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference papers.
