We are very happy to announce that Isabelle was offered a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Utah's Department of Communication and will join her new colleagues in fall 2022.

Isabelle has been part of our department since February 2021. She's been working as a postdoctoral researcher within the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project YouCount, led by Jörg Matthes. Prior to joining our department, Isabelle studied Media Research & Practice (B.A.: 2014) and Applied Media Research (M.A.: 2016) at the Technical University Dresden. She was part of the DFG-Research Training Group Trust and Communication in a Digitized World at the University of Münster, where she completed her Ph.D. entitled Misinformation on social media: A user perspective on information evaluation comparing Germany and the United States in June 2021. In 2020, she was a Fulbright Scholar at the Department of Life Sciences Communication of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

Generally, Isabelle's research examines the use and effect of media, in both science and political communication. In particular, her work focuses on social media and misinformation, on public perceptions of issues at the intersection of science and politics, as well as on public engagement with science. In Salt Lake City, she will teach courses on social media and trust, as well as science and risk communication.

The University of Utah was founded in 1850 and is considered as one of the largest universities in Utah, with a total of 35,000 students.
