Folker Hanusch has been named a Fellow of the International Communication Association (ICA), one of the highest distinctions in the field of communication research.

At the 2026 Annual Conference of the International Communication Association (ICA), which was held from June 4-8 in Cape Town, South Africa, Folker Hanusch was inducted as an ICA Fellow. The distinction recognises scholars for their distinguished contributions to communication research and is awarded through a rigorous nomination and selection process.

  • Folker Hanusch

    is Professor of Journalism and Vice-Dean for Career Development and International Affairs at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Vienna. He leads the Journalism Studies Center, which is also located within UNIVIE's Department of Communication.
